Who we are

Vast Pathways LLC is a company in San Luis Obispo County, California. We build and run career quizzes, forms, landing pages, ads and lead reporting for our clients. You can reach us at info@vastpathway.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

• On forms and quizzes we run: your name, email address, phone number and ZIP code, and your answers, such as the programs, campuses, class times and start dates you are interested in.
• On lead forms inside Facebook or Instagram that we run for a client: what you enter there, which Meta sends to us.
• On this website's contact form: your name, work email, organization, industry, what you want help with and your message.

Information collected when you visit

• Technical details such as your IP address, browser, device type, the pages you view, the page that sent you and the time of your visit.
• On pages we run for clients: details from the link you followed, such as the ad or campaign that brought you.

Consent records

When you agree to be contacted on a form we run, we keep a record of it: the consent words you saw, the page, the time, and a certificate from TrustedForm (or a similar service) that records the form page and how it was filled in.

What we do not ask for

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government ID numbers or health information. Please do not enter them in our forms.

How we use it

• To send your request to the school or business you chose and, if you agreed, to matched schools.
• To show you your results and to email you about your request, such as your quiz results.
• To check that a request is real: for example, that the phone number and email address look valid, that you are in the area a school serves, and that the request is not a duplicate.
• To run, measure and improve our forms, quizzes, pages and ads.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal duties.
• On this website: to reply to your message.

Who receives it

The school or business you chose

When you send a form or quiz we run for a client, we send your request to that client so it can answer you.

Matched schools, only if you agreed

Some consent boxes name matched schools. If you check one of those boxes, we may share your request with schools whose programs fit your answers. If you do not check it, we do not.

Service providers

Companies that help us run our services, such as hosting, databases, email delivery, consent certificates and analytics. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

Advertising companies

On landing pages we run for clients, advertising companies such as Meta and Google can receive information through the tools described in Advertising tools and analytics. They use it under their own terms and privacy policies, not only to provide a service to us.

When the law requires it

We may share information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of people and of our services.

If our business changes hands

If Vast Pathways is merged, sold or reorganized, information may move to the new owner, who must follow this policy for it.

Advertising tools and analytics

Landing pages we run for clients may use the Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager. These tools run in your browser. The Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager can learn that your browser visited the page and that a form was sent. When you send a form, your contact details (name, email address, phone number and ZIP code) and ad click identifiers may be passed to the client's tags. Those tags can load advertising and analytics tools from Google, Meta and other advertising vendors. Our clients use this to measure their ads, match sign-ups to ads and show ads to people who visited.

These tools use cookies and similar technology. Meta, Google and the other vendors use this information under their own privacy policies. You can limit it with your browser's privacy settings, an ad blocker, or the ad settings in your Meta and Google accounts.

Client landing pages do not respond to the Do Not Track setting or to Global Privacy Control signals from your browser. To limit these tools, use your browser settings and the controls those advertising companies offer.

Under some state privacy laws, such as California's, this kind of advertising may count as "sharing" personal information. See California and other states.

This website, vastpathway.com, does not use advertising tools. It uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and does not build a profile of you.

How Vast Pathways contacts you

Vast Pathways may email you about your own request, for example to send your quiz results. We do not text you or call you.

The schools that receive your request may call, text or email you under their own policies. How schools may contact you explains what the consent box on our forms means and how to stop messages.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what information we have about you and who we shared it with;
• correct it;
• stop sending it to matched schools or other businesses, and ask the client that has it to delete it;
• delete what we hold.

Email info@vastpathway.com and tell us the email address or phone number you used and what you would like us to do. We confirm who you are before we act, and we answer within 45 days. You can ask someone to make the request for you; we may ask for proof that they act for you. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If you want a school to stop contacting you, tell that school too. We cannot delete the copy a school already received.

California and other states

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia or another state with a consumer privacy law, you have the rights above as your state's law provides. If we decline your request, reply to our answer by email and ask for an appeal. We answer within the time the law sets.

In the past 12 months we collected these kinds of personal information:

• Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, IP address and ad click identifiers.
• Your interests: the programs, schedules and start dates you tell us about.
• Internet activity: the pages you viewed and how a form was filled in.
• Approximate location: your ZIP code, or a location based on your IP address.

We collect them from you, from your browser, and from Meta when you use a lead form inside Facebook or Instagram. We use them for the purposes in How we use it and give them to the recipients in Who receives it.

When you ask to hear from a school, or agree to be matched, we send your details to those schools, and they pay us for our service. California and other state laws may treat some of this as a sale or sharing of personal information. The advertising tools on our clients' landing pages may also count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. These may include your identifiers and contact details, as described in Advertising tools and analytics.

To opt out, email info@vastpathway.com with the subject "Do not sell or share". On request we stop sending your details to matched businesses, ask the client that has them to delete them, and delete what we hold. To limit the advertising tools in your browser, use your browser settings and the ad companies' own controls. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer things about you.

California's "Shine the Light" law: we give your information to schools for their own marketing only when you ask to hear from them on our forms. You can ask us for a list of the businesses we gave your information to in the past year.

Children and students under 18

Our services are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

Most of our forms do not ask your age. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you send a form. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a minor's information at any time.

How long we keep it

• Lead details from forms and quizzes we run (your name, contact details and answers): we keep them while our client needs them to answer your request, and we delete them earlier if a client's contract requires it or if you ask us to. We are setting up automatic removal of personal details after 3 years and deletion of the record after 5 years.
• Consent records (the consent certificate, the consent words you saw, the time and the page): up to 5 years, so we can show that consent was given.
• Messages from this website's contact form, which reach us by email: as long as we need to reply and work together, then deleted within 3 years of our last contact.
• On this website, analytics are counted without cookies. We keep no personal profiles.

Security

We protect information with encrypted connections, access controls and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Where your information is stored

We store information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
